CONTACT LENS EXAMS
Contact lenses are a great way to see clearly without having to wear glasses. A contact lens exam is an additional service that's done directly after your comprehensive eye exam. Dr. T will examine the cornea of your eye to determine if it is healthy to wear contact lenses and discuss the best type of contact lens for your needs from soft lenses to rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses or other specialty lenses (scleral, hybrid, ortho-K).
Soft contact lenses are the most commonly worn type of contact lens. They come in daily disposable or reusable lenses for up to 2 weeks or 1 month. Daily disposable contacts offer the best comfort, wettability, and convenience since it's a fresh lens every time with no maintenance. Reusable lenses are a good option but may get dirtier and less breathable with each wear due to the lens absorbing debris in our tear film. Discuss your needs with Dr. T so he can find the best contact lens option for you. We carry many soft contact lens fitting sets from the newest brands to offer the best technology available.
Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses offer a more
customized approach to correcting your vision. RGP lenses offer many benefits compared to soft contact lenses like sharper vision, more breathability and less debris buildup, but they often take longer to adjust before they are comfortable to wear. Dr. T can design an RGP lens special-made for your eye's prescription and shape if you think RGPs are for you.
