Dr. T has been serving his native Austin community as an optometrist since 2013. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Texas in Austin and his Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Prior to opening VISION + EYES in 2021, he had been practicing in various optometry and ophthalmology clinics around Austin and the surrounding suburbs.
Dr. T gained valuable experience in primary care, specialty contact lenses, and laser procedures/minor lid surgeries during his externship rotations in Tahlequah, OK and Austin, TX. He has also worked in rural Cherokee Nation clinics treating and managing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and other eye diseases. He is passionate about myopia management for kids since he is strongly near-sighted himself.
In his free time, Dr. T enjoys the outdoors with his wife Theresa and two kids, Luna and Luke. He’s a hobbyist woodworker, avid gamer (PCMR), and a fan of UT football and Houston sports.
"Born and raised in Cuba, I came to the States in 2015 in pursuit of freedom. Little did I know I would also find love and a profession I'm passionate about.
I have had the pleasure to work in several practices for big companies like Walmart Vision and Luxottica (Target). But working at private practices has been the most rewarding because of the detailed and personalized service given to patients.
As an optician, my favorite minute of the day is when I see the expression of happiness on a patient's face once they have received their glasses and their vision is properly corrected. That is the ultimate reward after a job well done.
Fun fact: I enjoy reading, gardening, traveling, connecting with friends around the world and meeting every demand of my two bossy cats. Life's good!"

"I have been in the optical industry since 2018. My favorite thing to do as an optician is bringing damaged frames back to life. It feels great when you can take someone's beloved frame and bring back it's beauty.
In my spare time I love to travel and play in various casino's. I am also an avid gamer (Xbox of course) and most importantly I love going into full dad mode spending time with my son and four beautiful daughters.
Also, the staff at Vision + Eyes are amazing - just like a second family!"
Jerry has been a team member at VISION+EYES since we opened. You won't see him much during the day because he is more of a night owl, preferring to take long walks around the office after dark. He's a valuable part of the team and does his best to keep the clinic as clean as it can be.
Fun fact, he likes to wear glasses but they make his vision worse.
